14NIKOLA TESLA AIRPORT - SERBIAVS-A contracted by VINCI / TERNA CONSTRUCTION, provided Design Build facade drawings for the Nikola Tesla Airport expansion in Serbia. With a reduction in the project budget the initial proposed design of a unitized glazing panel system was revised to metal insulated panels (sandwich panels) per the clients request. An effort was made to preserve as much glazing as possible while reducing cost. Automated window openings for smoke control was incorporated into the facade glazing for life safety. Portions of the facade incorporated steel and aluminum curtainwall systems.
